The Year of the Teacher

MyClass-Mockup-Secret-202_20210225-081309_1

With one of the undoubtedly toughest years within education behind us, schools are in dire need of Social-Emotional Learning solutions that can help them rebuild the wellbeing of their students and create a sense of inclusiveness and security. Solutions that work both in the classroom and remotely. For us at School Day, this year is about supporting schools, and more importantly, teachers in doing just that. That's why we named 2021 The Year of The Teacher.

The feedback from teachers has been clear. The biggest issue they face is a lack of time. Therefore, we have completely redesigned our main page to make the most important information visible and actionable in one glance and we are shifting from providing analytics to providing ready-made solutions.

Our focus will be on developing how teachers use School Day and how we can adapt to the everyday routines and work that happens in the classroom. This includes creating a clear path from identifying improvement areas, be they big or small, to taking action and tracking the progress, and impact of those actions.

EXCITING NEW UPDATES

Feedback and development ideas have been pouring in from teachers around the world. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you! Our vision is that by using School Day teachers see how their class is doing and know what improvement actions to take within 30 seconds. Needless to say, we have a way to go but are eager to take on the challenge. Here are the concrete steps we are taking towards that vision in our February release:

MyClass - A more intuitive main page that gives teachers an overview of the wellbeing of their class at a glance, using an overall score for each of the four wellbeing themes.

Class Highlights have been split into two areas and made more actionable: weekly highlights with improvement tips that can be discussed with students in a mere 15 minutes, and a monthly focus area with analytics and a ready-made lesson plan to tackle the most burning issue.

Student activity stats have also been added to help teachers ensure students are answering on a weekly basis.

Analytics has been integrated with MyClass so that statistics can be accessed with only one click. We have simplified and created a UI that highlights the most important information.

Explanatory texts have been added to help guide teachers in School Day and increase transparency to how elements such as wellbeing scores and data quality are calculated.

We hope you love the new improved School Day Teacher as much as we do!
